Context

Special Town Meeting set for Monday October 19, 2026, 7 pm, at Charlton Middle School. Calendar approved August 11: warrant opened 8/11; Finance Committee capital plan review 8/19; board reviews requests 9/8; Finance Committee approves the capital plan 9/16; warrant and motions finalized 9/22; posted by 10/1. The warrant ended up with 15 articles including $275K cruisers, $1.4M+ capital, $1.55M stabilization transfers, Article 5 ($500K senior center design, see Senior Community Center Feasibility), Article 7 (dog license fees, see Death Certificate and Dog License Fee Changes), Article 9 (Sunday alcohol openings at 10 a.m.), zoning articles 11-14 (including the data center moratorium, see Data Center Zoning Moratorium), and Article 15 (non-binding Flock petition, see Flock Automated License Plate Readers).

Status

Warrant closed September 22; the Select Board and Finance Committee jointly recommended Articles 1, 4 (all four motions), 5 (amended), 6, 7 (amended), 8, 9, and 10, and recommended passing over Articles 2 and 3. Zoning articles 11-14 and Article 15 were not voted that night.
