Temporary Protected Status Response Report
Context
Frances Anthes raised concern on 2026-08-03 about possible changes to Temporary Protected Status and the effect on long-term Worcester residents, families and essential workers. Seema Dixit said the City and partners have discussed resources such as pro bono legal assistance but she had no details of a broader plan. Patrick Lowe noted possible disruption to healthcare, social services and other sectors.
Status
Lowe moved, and the Board approved unanimously, that Dixit report in future, with City administration and community partners, on planning and response (preparedness, contingency planning, support for affected residents, continuity of essential services). The item is on the 2026-09-14 agenda.
