System-Wide Sewer Rehabilitation Phase 7

Context

KRG Utility, Inc. holds the System-Wide Sewer Rehabilitation Phase 7 contract, awarded November 10, 2025 at $5,689,690. On July 13, 2026 the commission approved a $1.6 million change order for work coordinated with resurfacing and for "red flag" defects, of which about $1.1 million was used and $500,000 was set aside for complex emergency repairs Utilities Field Operations cannot perform. That money has been used up, mainly on an unanticipated emergency repair of a 30-inch aerial sewer line.

Status

Staff asked on October 12, 2026 for another $750,000 change order to cover emergency repairs until a new infrastructure improvement contract is in place later in the year. The outcome is not in the packet.
