2026-08-18 - School Operations and Governance Committee

Summary

This page summarizes the posted agenda (Agenda #5), not what happened at the meeting. The School Committee's Standing Committee on Operations and Governance (Chair Jermaine Johnson, Vice Chair Molly McCullough, Dianna Biancheria) was set to meet at 4:30 PM at Doherty Memorial High School. Business was the Administration's boundary realignment update presentation (gb 6-72), recommended to be held, and three items taken together with a recommendation to file: McCullough's request to review school names with "magnet" in the title, her request on magnet scheduling at BMS/BHS ahead of a possible 2026-27 tier change for BMS, and Johnson's request to reduce the bus-transportation distance from 2 miles to 1.5 miles. The School Committee's September 3 agenda reports these as held (3-0) and filed (3-0). The posted notice prints the year as 2025 in the meeting date line; the PrimeGov listing and the surrounding agendas place it on August 18, 2026.
