Forsyth DRIVE Driver's License Restoration Program

Context

Driver's Restoration Initiative and Vocational Expansion (DRIVE) program run by the Forsyth County District Attorney's Office. On 2026-09-15 District Attorney Jim O'Neill, Assistant DA Jane Garrity, Veronica Nesbit and Tre'Quan David, Jr. described how earlier city funding has affected the program and the community.

Status

The 10/13 Finance agenda has a resolution extending the agreement among the City, the District Attorney for the 31st Prosecutorial District, the Forsyth County Clerk of Superior Court and the NC Administrative Office of the Courts, with a project budget ordinance amendment (file 26-0443). Outcome not yet known.
