Greensboro Wholesale Water Agreement Amendment
Context
Amendment to the 2002 Ancillary Intergovernmental Water Services Agreement under which the Utility Commission supplies wholesale water to the City of Greensboro, up to 3.0 million gallons per day. The amendment requires five years' written notice to terminate, keeps the 3.0 MGD allocation with a procedure to request more, lets Greensboro build and fund the West Market Street Loop (to be conveyed to the Commission) to offset pressure effects from its proposed pump station, shares the cost of the Old Greensboro Road water line extension, and updates wholesale rates, readiness-to-serve charges and billing. Execution is by the City Manager and Utilities Director subject to City Attorney review.
Status
Approved August 10, 2026 as part of a six-item motion. Rates and final terms were left to staff and the City Attorney's Office; they are not in the documents.
