Town 20th Anniversary Celebration
Context
Midway was incorporated in 2006, so 2026 was its 20th anniversary. Council set the event for Saturday, June 27, 2026, 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Town Park, with about $20,000 in the budget. Food trucks were chosen over catering (Drift Along Pizza, Old Richmond Grill and a lemonade vendor, with a ticket system), plus DARE and fire truck displays, yard games, matching shirts and banners. A committee of Councilors Robin Moon and Jackie Edwards, Brock Hall and Town Clerk Ree Goodson planned it with advice from Wallburg's clerk Donna Alwine, who ran that town's 20th anniversary event and was suggested as a paid coordinator.
Status
The event date has passed; the minutes do not report how it went. On July 13 Council declared the leftover America 250 banners bought for it as surplus property with zero value (McAlpine/Moon, unanimous).
