Context

Kirk Clinard asked to rezone 0.07 acre (Tax Map 34A Lot 23, Cotton Grove Township) on the north side of Holloway Church Road about 180 feet east of NC 8 in Southmont from RM-1 to HC. Owner of record on the application is High Rock Investments, LLC. It is a sliver left when NCDOT bought right-of-way around 2005 or 2006; the land north and south is already highway commercial and the Land Development Plan treats the area as a commercial node.

Status

Planning Board recommended approval 5-0 on August 4 and the Commissioners approved it on August 10 after a public hearing, with the applicant absent.
