Fluoride in City Water

Context

Council deferred a decision on continuing fluoridation pending federal review. On August 17 the city manager handed out a federal press release on an expedited Safe Drinking Water Act review of fluoride, and reported the system averaged 0.82 ppm in 2025 (July 2026: 0.77, of which 0.55 added and about 0.22 natural), within the federal 0.7 to 1.0 recommendation; concern levels cited were 1.5 ppm and above.
