On September 3 the project lead asked to cut 4 of 8 baseball fields to offset about $1.5 million of overruns (NCDOT off-site about $0.5 million, equipment about $0.5 million, Energy United power about $0.5 million); Parks and Recreation preferred a sponsorship RFP (about $7 million) and the board agreed provided no extra county money. A sponsorship salesperson spoke October 12 ($150K plus 15%).
