College Woods Private Pump Station
Context
A private sewer pump station (and trunk lines) serving the College Woods neighborhood, the last road of which is the Arbors, is owned by the developer's corporation. The corporation has asked the city to take it over, apparently to get it out of the corporation's name. Committee members noted that residents signed paperwork saying the city would not take it, that the HOA documents deliberately exclude the station and pipes, that the owners are aging and may let the corporation go defunct, and that the residents are outside the city. The open risk is a court or state order, or a health department action against the homes if the station fails. Details come from auto-captions.
Status
As of August 4, 2026 the Public Services Committee was unanimous in tone against accepting the station; the city attorney is to determine whether the city has any legal obligation (expected answer: no current obligation) and may send the corporation a letter saying the city will not take it on. The corporation asked for another month for the third time and missed an earlier meeting because of confused dates.
